The Xiaomi 13 series was officially released earlier this month in China. But this is not the end for the flagship series, since the company typically also releases a high-end Ultra model of its numbered series. Now, a new leak has revealed some interesting details regarding the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra model.
As per tipster Kartikey Singh, the Chinese tech giant’s new Ultra variant for its latest flagship series will feature an all new and improved periscope camera on the rear. The tipster claimed that the new periscope camera on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra “will shock everyone.”
In other words, the brand is clearly trying to bring some impressive performance or features through this zoom lens. The company’s Ultra models of smartphones are some of its most premium phones that also feature its best photographic capabilities.
So, this news isn’t exactly surprising. Last year’s iteration, the 12s Ultra, launched with the Sony IMX989 sensor that had a large 1-inch sensor size. Singh further added that “Since last 2 years no-one was able to challenge Samsung in long magnification Zoom which made Samsung lazy and they are using same hardware for 3 generations now but next year things will Start turning around and this monopoly will come to (an) end.”
Meaning, the new optical zoom module could likely offer improved quality and sharper images while also offering additional magnification. Samsung still takes the crown with its telephoto cameras, but it soon might have a worthy competitor. Unfortunately, this is all we know regarding the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s periscope camera. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.
