Nothing Phone (2A) key specs confirmed, won’t launch in the US

Recently, Nothing officially confirmed the launch date of the much anticipated Nothing Phone (2a). The new smartphone marks the company’s entrance into the mid-range market. The device is an important step for the brand if it aims to join the mainstream smartphone market.

Nothing Phone (2a) render

A new mid-range phone means that more consumers will be able to access the brand without having to pay for the premium lineup. However, if you’re a US resident and have been eagerly waiting for the new smartphone, the company has just confirmed the phone won’t be available for direct purchase in the United States.

Officially, the Nothing Phone (2a) won’t be launched in the United States. The same happened with the Nothing Phone (1), although the (1) was available through a beta program. Since the phone isn’t getting an official release in the country, it won’t be possible to buy the phone directly from retailers.

However, Nothing will still offer the phone to certain developers in the country. Those working on the recently announced Glyph Developer Kit will be able to acquire the smartphone. For other regions like India, the Nothing Phone (2a) will be widely available from March 5.

Nothing Phone (2A) Specifications (Unofficial)

If you’re excited about the new mid-range phone, tipster Yogesh Brar shared some of its key specifications. The Nothing Phone (2a) will come with a 6.7-inch OLED screen which is a nice addition in this category.

Under the hood, the device will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC. This chipset comes with 2 x ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at up to 2.8 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A510 efficient cores at 2 GHz. It’s a decent chipset for both app usage and moderate gaming.

In terms of optics, the Phone (2a) will come with a 50 MP main camera joined by a 50 MP ultrawide shooter and a 32 MP selfie camera. It will bot Nothing OS 2.5 on top of Android 14 straight out of the box.

The device will offer support for 45W fast charging. It will also come with the brand’s iconic Glyph Interface.

The Nothing Phone (2a) is rumored to cost about $360 in India. However, the pricing for other regions might be different. There are a couple of weeks ahead of the launch and we expect Nothing to keep sharing details in the next few days.
