Xiaomi has silently unveiled the Redmi Note 13R as its latest budget 5G smartphone in China, as the successor to last year’s Note 12R.
This device boasts a vibrant 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. A discreet punch-hole at the center of the screen accommodates an 8MP selfie camera. Under the hood, it packs the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Advanced Edition processor, complemented by up to 12GB of RAM for seamless multitasking.
It has up to 512GB storage, has a crystal glass design, is just 8.32mm slim and also comes with IP53 ratings for dust and splash resistance. The Note 13R has a 50MP rear camera along with a 2MP macro camera.
The phone uses a new magnetically controlled ink process that offers wave texture under the sun, creating the flowing light and shadow of the sea waves. The visual effect is smart and three-dimensional, which complements the silky and smooth glass feel, said the company.
The phone runs Android 14 with Xiaomi HyperOS, has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, packs a 5030mAh battery and comes with 33W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 13R comes in ice crystal blue, silver and midnight black colours and is listed on official website for 1399 yuan (USD 193) for 6GB+128GB and goes up to 2199 yuan (USD 304) for 12GB+512GB, but it should be cheaper when it goes on sale soon, likely for the carrier China Mobile soon.
