Motorola finally agree to push Android 8.0 Oreo update to Moto G4 Plus
Stones started dropping like showers from the sky as the owners and Fans of Moto G4 family was eliminated from the list published by Motorola itself. The list consist of smartphones that will be receiving updates to Android 8.0 Oreo. The G4 family came to the world less than 18 months ago.

Following that, it was discovered that the company altered the contents of an infographic as regards the G4 Plus. It was earlier noted that it was going to receive Oreo, which was later taken out.
Of course, most of the owners of G4 devices were unhappy with this development. To avoid chaos and churning of its fans, Motorola has changed its stance now, by officially confirming that it will push out Oreo update to the G4 Plus. Now, the issue now is that only the G4 Plus will be getting this in the family as the G4 and G4 Play will remain forever get stuck on Nougat.
According to Moto, no G4 device was scheduled for Oreo update, and it was simply a mistake that led to the aforementioned infographic claiming otherwise. Even so, it’s willing to work on this “unplanned” update and release it.
Below is the Motorola’s full official statement on the issue:

It’s been brought to our attention that there were some errors in our marketing materials around Android O upgrades for Moto G4 Plus. This was an oversight on our part and we apologize for this miscommunication. It’s our general practice for the Moto G family to get one major OS upgrade per device, but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule. Watch our software upgrade page for more information.

This is probably the first time the company will update its policy for the G line, namely one big Android version and that’s it. So think about it twice before purchasing a G5S or G5S Plus.
