This is a bad news for Opera fans. The Norwegian developer
announced that one of its popular Android applications – Opera Max, will no longer
be available for download.
Opera Max for Android discontinued and removed from the Google Play

Opera Max was originally launched way back in 2014, and the
application was intended to enable users manage and reduce data usage on
Android smartphones.
For some whatsoever reasons, Opera has choose to put an end
to the existence of the Android app on the Google Play effective instantly.
Apparently, the developer desires to focus on other services and stop putting
any resources into Opera Max’s development.

Opera has now decided
to discontinue Opera Max. The product had a substantially different value
proposition than our browser products, and represented a different focus for
Opera. We, therefore, focus on our browsers and other upcoming services.

People who still have Opera Max installed on their devices
should forget getting any new updates in the future. However, Android users
will be able to continue to take advantage of what Opera Max has to offer until
the developer will pull the plug on the service.
Furthermore, Opera Max users will be announced about the
termination of server-side support when the developer decides it’s time to call
it quits for good.
