Google is seriously preparing to launch Google Pixel 8, the successor to the Google Pixel 7. Numerous leaks have led us to believe that the Pixel 8 will launch near the end of October 2023. As the launch date draws near, a new leak has emerged online showcasing renders of Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

In the renders published by OnLeaks, Mishaal Rahman noticed that the SIM tray of the device was missing. Rahman mentions that if we look at the previous renders published by OnLeaks, for example, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 both showed the SIM card slots on the phone’s left side. This means the device might be eSIM only, at least in some regions.

For those unaware, the iPhone is the primary device in the US market that uses eSIM. However, Rahman says we should take this information with a grain of salt as the renders could be missing details.
