Twitter has introduced Verified Organizations, a new feature allowing pre-approved organizations to verify their associated handles.

The announcement aims to reduce the reliance on Twitter to be the sole verifier of accounts. Additionally, Twitter has revealed that it will stop providing free account verification from April 1, 2023.

Twitter Verified Organizations

Twitter’s Verified Organizations offers a fresh approach for companies and their affiliates to differentiate themselves on the platform. The Verified Organizations feature allows organizations to distinguish themselves on Twitter and have control over vetting and verifying their affiliated accounts.

It also provides an affiliate badge on the affiliated accounts’ profiles, displaying the organization’s logo, and featuring them on the organization’s profile.

Twitter has announced that various organizations from different industries, such as sports teams, news organizations, financial firms, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profits, have already joined Verified Organizations. These organizations have listed their affiliated accounts publicly on their Twitter profiles, indicating their association with the organization.

Availability

Starting today, Twitter now offers Verified Organizations globally. Approved organizations from the waitlist will receive email invitations, and interested businesses, non-profits, governments, and multilateral organizations can join the waitlist here.
