As rumoured, Apple has announced updated versions of the iPad Pro 12.9″ and iPad Pro 11″ models with the new Apple M2 processor.
The new chip promises 15% faster CPU performance and up to 35% faster GPU performance compared to the previous iPad Pro model. The new iPad Pro also features a new Apple Pencil hover experience, and it is the first to support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
The 11-inch model has a LED-backlit Liquid Retina display, and the 12.9-inch is the first model to feature a mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display, same as the older models.
With iPadOS 16, Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is now detected up to 12 mm above the display, allowing users to see a preview of their mark before they make it. This also allows users to sketch and illustrate with even greater precision, and makes everything users do with Apple Pencil even more effortless, said Apple.
The iPads also have a 5G model, come with Thunderbolt and USB 4 via USB-C port, feature a 12MP Ultra Wide TrueDepth front camera enabling Center Stage, and run iPadOS 16 with the new Stage Manager, Desktop-class apps and more.
The Reference Mode enables the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Liquid Retina XDR display to match the color requirements in workflows like review and approve, color grading, and compositing, said Apple.

Price and Availability
Aside from that, the two iPad Pro models are identical to their previous generation counterparts. The pricing also remains identical to previous generation, with the 11-inch model starting at $799 for the Wi-Fi model and $999 for the LTE model. The 12.9-inch starts at $1099, and the LTE models start at $1299.
The new iPad Pro models come in Space Gray and Silver colours, is available to order today, October 18 on apple.com and authorized resellers in India and will be available from October 26th.
