Google bring on new design for Play Store. Violates its own Material Design instructions
This time around, the much regarded basic principle of
Material Design held on by Google has eventually been violated by the same Google
after rolling out a new design for the Play Store.

To be precise, the Play Store landlord now uses nested tabs,
a technique explicitly banned from usage and rather endorses using content
hierarchy in various forms.

So what we now have is a “categories”, and below another
list of tabs, and even in some cases, there is a third list of tabs in the
latest design of the Google Play Store.
Undeniably, it’s a welcome development but what raises our
eyebrows is the strange diversion from the so call Material Design Principle by
Google itself. And below is a screenshot with Google’s guidelines on how
Material Design should essentially be implemented.
