NIO, a Chinese company that makes Electric Vehicles, is allegedly gearing up to release its first smartphone. Earlier this month, the NIO phone also appeared on the AnTuTu benchmarking site, revealing its specifications. According to a recent report, the company is planning to launch this phone in September 2023. Let’s go ahead and look at the post.
In a recent post on Weibo, 一明0272(Yi Ming0272) reveals that the company plans to release its long-awaited smartphone on September 21. For those unaware, NIO is known for its electric vehicle manufacturing, which is popular in the Chinese market.
It was earlier speculated that the company was trying to step into the smartphone market by introducing its first NIO phone. Previously, the renders of this device were revealed in a tweet which has now been deleted.
Additionally, this smartphone was listed in the Antutu benchmarking platform, as seen below.
In this CPU, GPU, memory, and UX test listing, the device scored 355,091, 434,891, 304,072, and 266,920 points, respectively. Meaning this phone managed to score 1,360,974 in total. Those wondering what this smartphone has to offer can check out the specifications below.
NIO Phone Key Specifications
The NIO phone is speculated to have a 120Hz display. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which runs at 3.36 GHz clock speed accompanied by 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The smartphone is said to be equipped with 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Lastly, it is expected to operate on Android 13.
