So far, the tech was limited to certain tablets and displays, but the company has now integrated it into phones. With respect to this, TCL has launched the 40 NxtPaper 4G and its 5G smartphone with displays that feel like paper. Here’s what you should know.

What Is TCL NxtPaper Technology?
TCL’s in-house developed NxtPaper technology offers full color electronic paper-like displays. Praised by consumers and media, these smartphones focus on eye comfort, certified by TÜV for low blue light.
Display settings adjust to surroundings for comfortable viewing, and the phones minimize glare and fingerprints, making outdoor reading smoother. The tailored NxtPaper UI allows users to select full-color or black-and-white displays, adding flexibility.

The TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G features a 6.6″ HD+ NxtPaper display with a paper-like viewing experience and NxtPaper UI. It has 256GB storage and 6GB RAM, expandable by 6GB of virtual RAM.
The smartphone boasts a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP primary camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor, along with an 8MP front camera. The AI camera feature enhances captures, and the AI Color Video mode highlights subjects in color against black and white backgrounds.

TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G Price and Availability
The TCL 40 NxtPaper 5G is expected to be sold €250 ($270/₹22,500) and is coming to Europe in October. Again, TCL plans to make it available in more regions around the world by the end of 2023, but those plans will be announced later.
