HMD Global, after being disrupted this year by COVID-19 pandemic the company has finally launched a set of smartphones it decided to postpone. And now the company has finally revealed the Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4 entry level devices. The Nokia 2.4 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. This chip is a familiar face if you’re used to low-end smartphones. It’s a major upgrade over the last year’s Nokia 2.3 Helio A22, since this time around, we’re talking about an octa-core chipset with eight Cortex-A53 cores. The phone also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of Expandable Storage. The good news is that the phone comes with a dedicated slot for the microSD card.

The phone is built around a 6.5-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The display has a waterdrop notch, whose cutout houses modest 5MP selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, we have a 13MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. We also have a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The Nokia 2.4 is fueled by a large 4,500mAh battery. The bad is that it still ships with a very outdated micro USB port that can only provide up to 5 Watts for charging. The shocking fact is that while Nokia couldn’t fit a USB C port here, the phone has NFC support. It also brings a 3.5mm headphone jack to the table along with FM radio support.
