You can now send money through PayPal from Skype’s mobile app

Skype and PayPal have announced the fusion of their individual
services yesterday. This applies to the Skype mobile apps for Android and iOS
users, and this would be available in 22 countries in total.

How to send money through Paypal from within Skype’s mobile app

During a conversation with the person you want to send some
cash to, following the below steps:
  • Simply select the Find option on the top bar.
  • Tap on Send Money.
  • Then type in the amount you want to send.
  • And confirm the payment. That’s all.

The United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium,
Canada, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy,
Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia,
Slovenia,
and Spain.
If you are lucky to be among the residents of those countries,
having a PayPal account, and uses Skype for Android or iOS, then enjoy.
A new version of Skype for both Android and iOS platforms
have started rolling out since yesterday. The moment you have it installed on
your device, you’ll be allowed to easily transact through PayPal, directly from
the messaging app.
Please note that PayPal rates are just the same as they
would be if you used its peer-to-peer payments on other platforms. Also note
that, you can only send money to friends and family, and not for payments of
goods or services from businesses.
