Honor has introduced its latest device, the Honor Play 40 5G, in China. The smartphone boasts support for 5G networks and comes at an affordable price point.
Though the Honor Play 40 may not have the same features as its namesake, the Honor Play 40 Plus, it still has a lot to offer. It resembles the Honor Play 6C in terms of hardware and camera specs, but with notably lower charging power.
Under the hood, the Honor Play 40 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset and comes with either 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no mention of support for memory cards in the official description.
The display of the Honor Play 40 is a 6.56-inch S-IPS screen with a resolution of 720×1612 and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The battery is quite capacious at 5200mAh, but the charging speed is a bit slow at only 10 watts.
The cameras on the Honor Play 40 are not very impressive as well, offering a 5 MP front-facing camera and a dual 13+2 MP rear camera setup, which includes an auxiliary depth sensor.
Some positives of the Honor Play 40 include dual-band Wi-Fi, Type-C, standard audio output, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. However, there is no NFC-module.
