YouTube will launch its new music streaming service in March 2018
According to a report from Bloomberg, YouTube intends to launch a new music streaming service in
the beginning of next year. The paid service will be launched in March 2018.
The report states that the service tentatively called Remix,
would offer an on-demand streaming and video clips similar to Spotify.
YouTube is currently in talks with some of the world’s leading
record labels comprising Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and
Warner Music Group, and the latter is allegedly already on board. Talks are
also on with Merlin, a consortium of independent labels.
