Nokia 8 to receive hefty 1.3GB Android Oreo update soon

It appear the Nokia 8 is set to get Android Oreo very soon. A
report from a Geekbench listing first hinted that the latest Android OS version
from Google is presently being tested on the 2017 Nokia flagship.

Though, this report is not convincing enough as its
appearance wasn’t exactly a 100% guarantee for the forthcoming update, but over
the weekend, HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas basically put all doubts
to rest. The company official shared a couple of pretty interesting images on
    Twitter:

While the view from his Dubai office is clearly remarkable,
mobile fans will perhaps be more captivated by the fact that the Nokia 8 unit
pictured in these photos is one restart away from installing a beta version of
Oreo. The changelog doesn’t disclose much, except for the weighty size of the
    update – 1.3GB.
Aside that, the Tweet doesn’t reveal the release date for
the patch, but Sarvikas said that it will be released “when [it’s]
perfect”. Nokia 8 is set to hit the shelves in several major markets
before the close of September, so it’s possible that a rollout begins in early
    October.
The Nokia 8 won’t be the only HMD handset to receive the
Oreo treatment. Sarvikas had recently assured fans of the brand that all
Android-powered Nokia smartphones will get the major software upgrade.
