Instagram will soon allow its users to have the ability to purchases from small businesses directly in chats. This is reported by the Reuters news agency, citing a statement from Meta Platforms, the owner of Instagram.

According to available data, users of the Instagram app just write a message to the company, add the appropriate settings if necessary, and place their order in the chat. After placing an order, the user will be able to track it in the chat; as well as ask additional questions to the seller, if necessary.

Also, you can pay for the order using the Meta Pay payment system. In which countries the ability to make purchases in Instagram chats will appear first is not specified.

The new feature is part of Meta‘s broader e-commerce efforts. Back in 2020, the social media giant launched Shops to allow users to shop for different products on Facebook and Instagram. As the Instagram app is so popular around the world; it’s safe to assume that the ability to shop in chats will become a very popular feature.

In a recent update on Twitter, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri revealed new capabilities coming to Instagram creators with paid subscribers. In the subscribers program, Instagram creators may charge their followers a monthly subscription to access exclusive content on the social media app.
