Metro by T-Mobile has combined with TCL to unveil the TCL Ion X smartphone at a hugely affordable price. The new model is viewed in some quarters as an incredibly cheap and extremely modest phone.

TCL ION X launched

The Ion X sports an incredibly outdated-looking design and low-level components. It has a 3,000mAh battery, a low-res 6-inch screen, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The ION X could be a hard sell even with its price, as its key performance parameters are lagging behind.

It has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The price of the smartphone may be a strong motivation to purchase but its features are quite underwhelming.

The new Metro by T-Mobile smartphone will run on Android 12. It is also propped as having all the latest features of the new OS. However, the phone falls short in many areas. It is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor.

The TCL Ion X has a USB Type-C port, microSD card slot, and headphone jack. These are basic features that are expected in any standard smartphone.
