The much-anticipated Google Pixel Fold phone’s launch timeline has finally been revealed ahead of an official unveiling. Google launched the Pixel 7 series smartphones and the Pixel Watch at the Made by Google event last week. Also, the company shared some key details about its first-ever tab dubbed Pixel Tablet.

Regrettably, the search giant did not divulge any vital information about its foldable smartphone at the event. However, the word on the street is that Google has pushed the launch date of the Pixel Fold back for whatever reason. So, it is unlikely to arrive in 2022, despite earlier reports claiming Google’s foldable phone will break cover later this year.

To recap, reliable tipster Evan Blass recently indicated that the foldable Pixel would launch before this year ends. Now, DSCC CEO Ross Young has shed some light on the Pixel Fold launch timeline. According to Young, the Pixel Fold will not launch this year. He claims Google is prepping to launch its maiden foldable handset in Q1 2023.

Replying to noted leaker Roland Quandt’s tweet about the Pixel Fold, Young suggests Google will launch the Pixel Fold in the first quarter of next year. Moreover, he adds that Google will start receiving Pixel Fold panel shipments in January. According to a Gadgets 360 report, Google could be working on two foldable devices.

A developer recently spotted a foldable phone in a code from Google’s Android 13 QPR1 beta. Notably, this foldable smartphone carries the codename, Felix. The foldable device houses three cameras on the back. This includes an IMX787 primary sensor and an IMX386 ultra-wide-angle camera. Also, it features an S5K3J1 telephoto lens.

Upfront, the foldable phone has an S5k3J1 telephoto lens for selfies and video calling. A foldable phone carrying the codename Pipit popped up on the internet earlier this year. The developer revealed this model packs an old Tensor SoC. Furthermore, past leaks suggest that Google’s foldable phone could launch as Pixel Fold or Pixel Notepad.

Foxconn

Moreover, Foxconn could make this foldable phone in China. It could sport a 7.57 inch inner display along with a 5.78 inch outer display. Lastly, Google’s foldable phone could come with a thin glass cover.
