The name Hi nova in the smartphone field may be reminding you of something, right? Doesn’t it remind you of something? At the moment, we can’t insist that this is a Huawei-related series. But still, there are many things in common with the Huawei Nova. Well, these phones come our way from China Post, and they are basically the rebranded versions of the Huawei Nova handset. Fortunately, the new phone we are going to talk about is a 5G smartphone. (As you remember, due to the US sanctions, Huawei can’t design 5G smartphones using American technologies.) Now, let’s talk about the Hi nova 9 SE 5G.
It uses a 3D glass back cover, has a 7.94mm body, weighs 191g, and feels very light in hand. As for the display, the Hi nova 9 SE 5G carries a 6.78-inch full-view screen with a screen ratio of up to 94.85%. The display also supports a 120Hz high refresh rate and P3 wide color gamut. Its resolution is as high as 2388*1080 pixels, while the pixel density is 387PPI. The side borders are 1.05 mm only, while the forehead is 1.1 mm.
As one of the highlights of the machine, the Hi nova 9 SE comes with a 100-megapixel AI quad-camera system. The main camera sensor has a 108-megapixel resolution. The rest of the secondary sensors include an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens, and a 4cm macro lens.
Getting back to the main camera, it uses a 1/1.52-inch sensor with a large aperture of F/1.9. This camera also supports 9-in-1 pixel fusion technology, bringing equivalent 2.1μm large pixels. Of course, such a large-pixel CMOS allows the phone to support multiple shooting modes such as super night scene, rear main camera, and wide-angle simultaneous recording. Plus, the phone can use the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
At the same time, the front camera has a 16-megapixel resolution.
Under the hood, our protagonist hosts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC. The latter adopts a 6nm process technology. Other than that, there is a built-in 4000mAh battery, which supports 66W fast charging. Due to the latter, the battery can be fully charged in 35 minutes.
The Hi nova 9 SE also adopts a sandwich heat dissipation structure design with graphene material that has a high thermal conductivity.

At present, the phone is available for booking on various platforms. There are two memory options of 8GB +128GB and 8GB+256GB. They cost 2499 yuan ($391) and 2699 yuan ($422), respectively. These two will start shipping on April 23.
