For a while now, Xiaomi has been working on iOS-like widgets for MIUI. These widgets are now live in the beta channel. Users with a supported device running MIUI China Beta ROM can experience the new UI elements right away.
During the initial testing stage, only a few first-party applications supported the new widget system. But now, Xiaomi says that developers of 6 popular apps in China have updated their applications for compatibility and even introduced some widgets.
The below-listed are the third-party apps that currently have widgets for MIUI.
- Baidu App
- Baidu Map
- AutoNavi Map
- QQ Music
- WPS Office
In addition to these applications, users can also experience widgets of stock MIUI apps like Gallery, Notes, Clock, Security, and others. The widgets can be placed both in ‘App Vault’ and on the home screen. They also support dark mode.
Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, these widgets are currently only available on select mid-range and premium Mi, Redmi, and Xiaomi-branded smartphones running MIUI China Beta ROM. It’s not known when this feature will be made available in the global markets.
