MTN Nigeria Increases Price Of SIM Cards

MTN Nigeria did not only stopped at halting the sales of N100 logical pins which reported in the recent development, it has also increased the price of the Pre-paid Start Kit (PPSK) & Pre-paid Welcome Back (PPWB) SIMs.

This new development has since yesterday, June 1, 2021 been effected. The new SIMs will now go for the N400 instead of N100 being charged before yesterday. The new PPSK & PPWB SIMs comes with a pre-loaded N1,000 bonus offer; 

  • N800 for Voice 
  • N200 for Data. 

Note: This bonus is activated with a minimum recharge of N100. 

In addition to the above bonus, subscribers will still enjoy the subsisting Yanfu Yanfu  700% bonus on any value of recharge from N100. 

Important Points To Note (Bumpa Package)

>> New SIM will come with preloaded one-off offer of N1,000 bonus

>> Customer will be required to register and activate line to access the preloaded bonuses

>> Airtime cost of N150 is the cost of value given for Voice & Data

>> Bonus account cannot be used for roaming, calls to international destinations or purchase of data bundles, VAS and other subscription services

>> Yafun Yafun will still maintain current structure – recharge and enjoy the Yafun Yafun 700% bonus

>> All other existing rules on Yafun Yafun plan remains the same

>> XtraValue and XtraSpecial customers will be exempted from this offer.

Q: Is it true that MTN SIM card is no longer N100?

A: Yes, SIM cards now sell for N400 as from 1st June. However, you will receive a one – off bonus for voice and data worth N1000 once you recharge.

Q: What will I benefit from this change?

    • To buy a new MTN SIM, go with your;

      1. NIN number
      2. Means of identification (voters card, National ID, Drivers License or International Passport). The national ID Slip is more preferable because it has your NIN number.

      Note: New MTN SIM now cost 500 naira.
