According to a latest information,the Huawei and Honor smartphones will eventually get the HarmonyOS operating system, also known in China as HongmengOS.

Recently, at a conference dedicated to the announcement of the Huawei Mate X2 smartphone, the company announced that from April this year it will start rolling out HarmonyOS for flagship smartphone models.

Huawei Smartphones To Get HarmonyOS

Since the release of this information, several users of older models have expressed concerns about whether they will receive the new operating system. As it became known, the current plan of the company includes the update of all smartphones built on the basis of the Kirin 710 SoC and the newer SoCs of the company.

This means that the update should be available for smartphones and tablets equipped with Kirin 810, Kirin 820, Kirin 820E, Kirin 980, Kirin 990, Kirin 985 and Kirin 9000 platforms.

According to Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer device software business, the company plans to release Harmony OS for 200 million Huawei smartphones this year.
