Though Nokia phones refused to make an appearance at IFA 2020 earlier in September, HMD Global (the Finnish company that makes Nokia-branded phones) has finally taken the wraps off two new budget phones at a standalone virtual event today. The Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4 have been unveiled with MediaTek and Snapdragon chipsets under the hood respectively.
Apart from the Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4, HMD Global also revealed that the Nokia 8.3 5G is finally available for the global markets.
Nokia 8.3 5G – HMD Global’s First 5G Phone
The Nokia 8.3 5G is of course not new to us. The device was announced earlier this year, but its launch was delayed for obvious reasons. Now, the wait is over as the device will reach the US.
The Nokia 8.3 5G currently is the brand’s most modern offering with Snapdragon 765G, 64MP camera with ZEISS lens, 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging and a 6.81-nch LCD with FHD+ resolution. Well, these specifications certainly fit for a 2020 5G mid-range smartphone, but we have to agree that the Nokia 8.3 5G is quite pricey for what it offers. We are curious to see how it will perform in global markets.
Price and Availability
According to HMD, the global average price is €600, which includes 6 months of Google One (100 GB cloud storage).
