How To Use Google Maps Offline On Your Smartphone

Some of us have experiences such before. You are going on a trip, and after having prepared everything, you realize that in the destination you will have no Internet connection. This is where Google Maps comes in save. It is possible to use GPS offline on your phone, thanks to the “Offline Maps” option of Google Maps.

It’s a functionality with which we can select several specific maps to be able to use them fully without depending on the Internet. To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Launch Google Maps app
  • Click on your profile picture on the top and choose “Offline Maps”
  • Click on “Select your own map” and locate the area you want to go to.
  • Download the Map and access it offline.

After going through these simple steps, you should be able to use GPS on your mobile without Internet in a completely autonomous way. Please note that the different maps will be stored within the application itself. There is no need to worry about space, since all the places we want can be stored in a compact weight.

Also, these maps have an expiration date but will be updated every time we connect to a WiFi network. The only negative point is that it only allows you to do the route by car and not on foot.
