It’s no longer news the Nigerian mobile operators have started charging their subscribers high in terms of tariff due to the newly introduced 7.5% VAT by the Nigerian government. This simply means that sending SMS or making calls now attracts the new 7.5% VAT. However, this is only applicable to subscribers on Pulse and mPulse tariff plans for now.
As earlier stated, this is as a result of the federal government imposing income withholding tax on foreign companies for professional and consulting services provided to Nigerians.
What Changed:
Plan | Call Tariff | SMS | ||
Previous Tariff | Current Tariff | Previous Charges | Current Charges | |
Pulse | Flat rate of 11kobo/ to all networks after spending N15 | Flat rate of 11.26kobo/sec to all networks after spending N15.6K | N4 | N4.10 |
mPulse | Flat rate of 15kobo/sec OR N9/min | Flat rate of 15.36k/secs or N9.2/min | N4 | N4.10 |

This is stupidity, so we can’t enjoy anything without paying? This is not good
