We have got a way out to get the Gmail Dark Theme on old Android versions by using the Xposed Module called Gmail Dark theme Enabler. The users can install the module either via the Xposed or EdXposed module. However, in both cases, the device should be rooted.


  • A Rooted Android smartphone with an Xposed framework or EdXposed module (unofficially version of the Xposed for newer Android version).
  • Latest Gmail App on your Smartphone.
  • Download Gmail Dark Theme Enabler Xposed Module.

Guide to enable Gmail Dark theme using Xposed Module

The users are requested to follow the below-mentioned steps carefully.

  1. Open the Xposed Installer and tap the Download button.
  2. Now, you will see three sections – Framework, Installed, and Not Installed.
  3. In Not Installed section, scroll for the module and tap on it to open and read more details.
  4. Now, install it by heading to the Versions tab and tap on the Download button.
  5. Tap Install to finish it.
  6. The user must reboot the phone to activate the module.
  7. Now, you will see the Theme option in Gmail App’s Settings menu.
  8. Select the Dark Mode, and you are good to go.
