How To Check NIN Number Using USSD Code
To check, simply follow the steps below:
- Navigate to your dialer or phone app and dial *346#Â
- Select the “NIN Retrieval†option, by typing in ‘1’ to check your NIN number if you dialed this code from the phone number you used when registering for your NIN.
- Select “NIN Search†by typing in ‘2’, to check your NIN by inputting some of your registration details if you’ve lost your phone number or using another phone.
- Congratulations, you are finally able to check your NIN for your mobile device.
Note:
Ensure you have at least N20 Airtime on your phone because you’ll be charged a onetime fee of N20 once you dial the USSD code above.
You must dial from the sim associated with a previous registration of either voter’s card, driver’s license, bvn or any other registration that got your thumbprint and photo.Â

Plus option 2 says cancel .
I tried to use the code *346#,in checking my nin number, then I was told it doesn’t exist
The USSD Code doesn’t work. I have tried it severally without success.
It works sir. The issue you are like facing is caused by traffic.
Pls can we use our voters card, becos I dnt have national identity card
No. It’s not acceptable. That why you need to go for enrolment.
I’ve tried the ussd code, it’s saying my data doesn’t exist and the option of entering number 2 will go to cancel instead of nin search
This simply means you will have to enrol for NIN
I’ve enrolled before, but my slip is not with me
Remember, you are to dial that *346# on the phone number used to enrolled for the NIN. If you dial it on a number that has never been register on NIN, you will be getting that error message.
I have tried *346# but it keeps saying SP Services time out
Sorry for the error message. It’s traffic. Continue trying it.
Can national I D card serve. I got my NIN when i dialled the code but i didn’t register for NIMC. Am i required to still go to the enrollment center to register?
If you have never registered for NIN and you got one from your SIM. It’s possible that the line is a recycled one. It’s best to go for a fresh one and link it to your SIM.
Thanks so much for this. I have been having issues with my nin. I just tried the ussd code. And it said my request is being processed.
