Facebook’s vision of unifying its three major services – Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook – has kicked off. The ability to share your WhatsApp status was made available to beta testers in June this year, and now it’s officially rolling out to all Android users globally.

You can share your Instagram stories to Facebook, and now you can also share your WhatsApp Status Update to Facebook stories. Below is how you can do that.

However, before sharing the WhatsApp Status to the Facebook Story, you need to change the Facebook Story privacy settings directly from WhatsApp to choose from Public, Friends and connections, Friends, or Custom.

How to Share Your WhatsApp Status as Facebook Stories

1. Go to ‘My Status’

2. Tap on the Hamburger icon next to the Status you want to share to Facebook

3. Tap on ‘Share to Facebook’

4. You will see your Facebook profile picture at the bottom with your default privacy setting where you can choose from Public, Friends, or custom.

5. Tap on ‘Share now’ to share the Story

Once a WhatsApp Status is posted as Facebook Story, it will stay there for 24 hours. A WhatsApp Status can be shared as Facebook Story multiple times and it stays there even if you delete the original WhatsApp status.

The WhatsApp updates shared to Facebook Stories appear only as a screenshot. So, if you are sharing a WhatsApp update that carries a link, it will not be clickable on Facebook but appear only as a picture with text.

To get this feature, simply update your global WhatsApp to the latest version and enjoy.
