Apple rolls out iOS 13 with Dark Mode, new Memoji customization, and more

The long wait has finally ended as Apple finally makes the OS 13 available for download. The iOS 13 that was announced back in June at WWDC is  now rolling out with a system-wide Dark Mode, Apple Arcade, and new Memoji customization. It also comes with new Maps and Photos apps and adds swipe typing to the iOS keyboard.

iOS 13 is faster and more responsive with optimizations across the system that improve app launch, reduce app download sizes, and makes Face ID 30% faster.

The iOS 13 is compatible with a total of 15 devices, which include:

What’s New In iOS 13

Dark Mode

iOS13 comes with a beautiful new dark colour scheme that delivers a great viewing experience especially in low-light environments. You can turn it ON automatically onSunset, certain time or from control center.

Swipe to Type

iOS13 brings a new Quickpath keyboard, which lets you swipe to type more quickly, similar to how Google’s Gboard works.


Apple Maps is getting new update – You’ll be able to explore the city in 3D when turned ON.


Siri will soon be able to read your incoming messages to you and let you share audio from your AirPods. Over 100,000 live radio stations from around the world available with Siri.

New Privacy Features

A new privacy feature has been introduced on iOS 13 that lets you log into third-party apps and websites using your Apple ID. Or even choose for Apple to generate new email address for you to login to these services.

How to Download  iOS 13

Go into the Settings section on your phone, tap on the tab that says “General,” and then press “Software Update.

Note: Before you download, plug your phone into a power source and connect to WiFi for the download.

In addition to iOS 13, Apple has also started seeding watchOS 6 for Watch Series 3 and 4. Watch Series 1 and 2 will get it later this fall.

That said, Apple will release iPadOS and iOS 13.1 September 24, which is six days ahead of the originally planned rollout.
