Airtel India will be shutting down its 3G network in Kolkata and in its place will provide mobile broadband services in the city via 4G. All 3G subscribers were duly notified and requested to upgrade their handsets/SIMs to 4G-enabled ones.

This is part of Airtel’s move to expand 4G coverage across the country. 3G networks will gradually be shut down where adequate 4G networks exist. The mobile operator is said to be investing hugely in 4G technology and sees no business justification for keeping 3G services running once 4G is in place.
The telecom operator says it will keep its 2G network on in Kolkata to serve feature phone users.
It’s an amazing article designed for all the internet people; they will take benefit from it I am sure
