OPPO F11 Pro’s First impressions: Hands-on review

OPPO’s first product launch in Nigeria has come and gone, but the smartphone that was introduced to Africa’s largest mobile market is still here. As is our custom, we are going to bring you our OPPO F11 Pro hands-on review and first impression. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.

Oppo F11 Pro Review

Let’s start with the box and what is in it.

The box is a simple, white, compact affair. Opened up, these are the items we found inside:

  • OPPO F11 Pro smartphone in Thunder Black colour.
  • 3-pin wall power adapter.
  • USB cable
  • Transparent silicon case.
  • Quick guide.
  • SIM slot ejector tool.
  • 3.5 mm audio headset.

OPPO F11 Pro quick specs

Here are the specs of our review unit:

  • 6.5-inch display
  • 16 MP motorized pop-up front camera
  • 48 MP + 5 MP dual rear camera
  • 4000 mAh battey with VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
  • 6 GB RAM
  • 128 GB internal memory.
  • MicroSD card slot (hybrid)
  • Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie.

The F11 Pro comes in two variants. The other one has only 64 GB internal storage. This one has 128 GB and is the only version we have seen on sale here in Nigeria.

OPPO F11 Pro hands-on review

So, what does the F11 Pro feel like in the hand? Solid. Solid is the word. It feels solid and sleek. The 3D gradient glass finish on the back is a beauty to behold.

Besides the solid build and beautiful colour, another striking feature of the OPPO F11 Pro is its motorized front camera, and we dived into the camera to give it a spin. Don’t blame us. There is a little child in all of us. As such, I have been showing off that feature to everyone I can.. and it wows them.

Oppo F11 Pro Review 4

The F11 Pro certainly has the WOW factor nailed to the last letter.

I popped in two SIM cards – one Airtel and the other Glo. I am happy to let Glo 4G users know that they are good with this OPPO smartphone. Glo 4G LTE works like a dream.

I checked out the charger, and it is rated at 5V/4A, which is 20W. VOOC is OPPO’s fast charging system, and the F11 Pro supports version 3.0, which is 20W fast charging. So, the included charger is one that takes full advantage of the phone’s fast charging capabilities. How long does it take to charge up?

We haven’t had the time to put that to the test yet, but OPPO says that VOOC 3.0 will take the 4000 mAh battery from 0 – 75% in 30 minutes. That sounds super delicious and we will be sure to have a taste of it. Watch out for details in our review.

I am looking forward to spending some time with both front and rear cameras to see how well they perform. Just to give you a taste of the 48 MP dual camera in this OPPO F11 Pro hands-on review, we did a quick photo shoot. Here is a sample:

What do you think? I won’t be passing any comments on the photo quality yet. You can expect a handful of more pictures in the full review, and perhaps in a dedicated OPPO F11 Pro photo-shoot article.

In terms of general performance, the F11 Pro has been smooth and first impressions are good ones. With a Helio P70 processor and 6 GB RAM running things under the hood, we weren’t expecting anything less than smooth performance. We will have more details on performance for you in the full review.

For more detailed information about the phone, you can go through our full OPPO F11 Pro specs. Stay tuned and don’t go away. All the detailed, cool things happen here on TellForce Blog.
