As for Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, he removed what looked like a protective film on the display of the Galaxy Fold and the malfunction started. In his case, the malfunction may be associated with the protective film.
The phone comes with this protective layer/film. Samsung says you are not supposed to remove it. I removed it, not knowing you’re not supposed to (consumers won’t know either). It appeared removable in the left corner, so I took it off. I believe this contributed to the problem. pic.twitter.com/fU646D2zpY

Also, popular leakster, @evleaks also complained of “a large white hollow on edges of the screenâ€. Furthermore, he said that the hollow grows hourly. See the tweets below.
“As usual can’t talk in public about it: my fold test unit shows a large white hollow on edges of the screen. This effect is actually growing every hour.”

The fact that these complaints are coming from different users suggests that these are probably not isolated cases. However, ‘s Dieter Bohn said he did not mal-handle his device in any way. According to him, the display malfunctioned after a bulge appeared on the screen.

Is Foldable Display Technology Really Ready?
With all these complaints coming in, can we be safe that the foldable screen technology is not yet ready or it’s just a half job done by Samsung? Well, we will have to keep our fingers crossed to ascertain whether this display problem is a widespread issue or its isolated.
