The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon is coated with satellite-grade carbon fibre which Lenovo claims passed nearly a dozen military-grade spec tests. The left side of the laptop houses the 3 thunderbolt USB-C ports capable of supplying power and a HDMI port. On the right side is a 3.5 mm mic jack, USB-A connector and large fan vents.

The 14″ laptop provides a rich and colourful display. The high dynamic range of 2560 x 1440 res provides a higher percentage of sRGB colour gamut compared to the other screen option of 1920 x 1080 res with a lesser but still commendable colour gamut.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon comes with a red trackpoint nub for navigation and a smoother touchpad for accuracy. It also has sensors like the match -in- sensor fingerprint reader and a Thinkshutter sensor – a physical cover for the lens, all built against hacks.
