Just few people are familiar with location sharing on Google maps. Google Maps’ location sharing is a feature that works great when you want to keep track of where people are at a particular time.
For example, if you want to know the location of your worker, simply ask them to share his/her location. Or he is on his way from a trip and you need to meet up with him, this feature is particularly useful.
Recent, this feature received an update and a tiny little functionality was added that makes it a lot more useful.
How It Works
Now, when someone shares their location with you, the Maps app will not only show you where they are but also display their phone’s battery status.
That way, you will know if their phone is about to die and stop updating their location. Similarly, you can also infer why their phone isn’t reachable.
The feature is now live on Google Maps’ mobile apps, so you can try it right now.
