Google Play Bans Crypto Mining Apps, Repetitive App and More

And the war against cryptocurrencies continues as Google has just updated its app developer policy as regards its content for children, adults, violence, discrimination, crypto mining and also clears out the repetitive apps.

Apps that “appeal to children but contain adult themes” are no longer acceptable. Apps with adult content of any sort are banned. Applications holding hatred against individuals or groups based on race or other characteristics have now been explicitly forbidden too.

The most interesting aspect of the ban is the inclusion of cryptocurrency mining apps as they have also been prohibited. This means that users of apps such as MinerGate, Crypto Miner or NeoNeonMiner would not be happy with this. Repetitive apps are not also left out as they have been also shown the exit door.

Mining AppsWith the new development, developers can no longer submit apps with “highly similar content and user experience,” or “apps that are created by an automated tool, wizard service, or based on templates”. Click HERE to see the updated policy.
