Samsung Galaxy S9 Tops iPhone X Sales in April 2018

It appears Samsung is finally getting back it mojo through the Galaxy S9 Plus, according to Counterpoint research reports. After a very good run at the top in Q1 2018, Apple’s iPhone X was finally outsold by the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus in the first month of Q2. And it isn’t just the S9 Plus, its smaller version the Galaxy S9 shared the top spot with it.

In Q1 2018 , Apple’s iPhone models dominated the top four spots. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series have responded with some fervour, pushing Apple’s iPhone X to the third spot and the iPhone 8 series further down the pyramid.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus are very beautiful devices with amazing features and specs. It was unveiled in March 2018, they missed much of quarter one. It is no surprise that they are selling in droves and have beaten Apple’s iPhone X back in the market.

Xiaomi narrowly missed the top 5 spots, but make a showing in the 6th and 8th positions with the Redmi 5A and Redmi 5 Plus respectively.

Xiaomi is definitely proving to be a solid brand to watch in the smartphone market. The brand has sustained its tempo over the years and is now rubbing shoulders with the top selling brands in the world. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was in 5th place in Q1 2018.
