The ability to request money from friends or pay money to friends has come live for those on WhatsApp 2.18.113 beta version. This feature allows users to send and receive money to users on their contact list and from Unified Payments Interface (UPI) addresses or via a QR Code. The “Request Money” features sits besides the “Pay Money” option for sending money to contacts.

How To Request For Payment On WhatsApp?
To request for money from your contacts, go to Settings>>Payment and tap on New Payment , then enter the UPI address or scan a QR code in the next page.
Once done, you will see two options: Request money and Pay money, tap on “Request Money” and enter the amount you wish to request from that particular contact. Request once sent will expire within a period of 24 hours.
Pending requests and the status of those payments will be seen in the Payment Menu that comes under Settings.
However, this new WhatsApp payment feature is only available to Indian users for now and will soon come live and official to other countries very soon.
