It’s no longer news that app developers now puts low-budget phone users into consideration by developing a Lite version of their main apps for those phones. Lite apps is now on the rise in terms of popularity and adoption. Facebook Messenger Lite which has been around for a while recently recorded 100 million download. And now Facebook has decided to add video chat to its Lite version.
Facebook Messenger Lite video chat makes the app more featured but hopefully, this won’t add bloat to the app. Remember, the main reason for introduction of Lite version is to avoid hanging and sluggish operation in low-end devices.
I just hope that Facebook will not consider adding more features to the messenger Lite app or the mission behind Lite version movement would be a caricature.
