Microsoft is set to release yet another major update for its Android launcher. Some of the upcoming improvements, are already available to everyone who has the beta version installed on their devices.

Among the key changes included in Microsoft Launcher v4.7, the developers made mention of some calendar notifications improvements, which will allow you to have all the upcoming calendar events shown on the lock screen.

In addition, the new version of Microsoft Launcher will allow you to get your new daily backgrounds from their own custom set of wallpapers in addition to Bing. You’ll notice that in the next version of the launcher you will be able to set your wallpapers to be scroll-able.

Improvements to the badge notifications system have been implemented too, so you’ll now be able to control app notification badges for each app installed on your phone.

Going to the UI department, some adjustments have been made, which will allow you to take some actions quicker and easier. You can find them all below, along with some other changes made to the launcher:

  • Simplified long press app context menu;
  • New “What’s New” experience;
  • Support both move & clone when moving apps in app drawer to form a folder;
  • Bug fix on Feedback & Help page.

In conclusion, the update comes with many performance improvements and crash fixes. This appears to be a noteworthy update, so let’s hope it will be released sooner rather than later.
