Are you one of those using one of the unpopular brands, such as Leagoo? I am not condemning such brands but using some of them makes your data vulnerable to malware.

According to report by a Russia-based antivirus vendor—Dr. Web—, it has been revealed that over 42 Android smartphones have been shipped with a banking Trojan which is dubbed the Tirada Android banking Trojan. It’s not a new Trojan, but its presence can automatically root your device and make it impossible for you to get rid of it without reinstalling the operating system.

The report states that the key feature of Android.Triada.231 is that cybercriminals inject this Trojan into the libandroid_runtime.so system library.

The same reports also cast the blame on the manufacturers. It says mainstream of the blame lies with the third party software developers who inject malware alongside the applications that come with the phones.

“This [software development] company provided Leagoo with one of its applications to be included into an image of the mobile operating system, as well as with an instruction to add third-party code into the system libraries before their compilation.” Says the report.
