A report by Brand Finance, has rated Globacom as the Nigeriaâ€™s most valuable telecoms brand of 2018. The mobile operator retains the rank from last yearâ€™s record, and stays at 130.
Known to be the Nigerian largest mobile network, MTN improved in the ranking as it moved up from 47th to 45th to become South Africaâ€™s most valuable Telco brand.
Other African countries within the first 300 most valuable brands includes Kenyaâ€™s Safaricom (99th), Moroccoâ€™s Maroc Telecom (111th), Senegalâ€™s Sonatel (136th), Telkom (140th), Cell C (158th), Moroccoâ€™s Inwi (169th), Telecom Egypt (201st), Blue Label Telecoms (207th) and Zimbabweâ€™s Econet (223rd).

The topmost Americaâ€™s telecoms player, AT&T rules the world. The company was able to hold on to the title of the industryâ€™s most valuable brand despite its brand value dropped 5% from US$87.0 billion to US$82.4 billion over the past 12 months.
Overall, MTN is African most valuable telecom brands of 2018, closely followed by Safaricom of Kenya, Maroc of Morocco and Nigeriaâ€™s Globacom.
