A report by Brand Finance, has rated Globacom as the Nigeria’s most valuable telecoms brand of 2018. The mobile operator retains the rank from last year’s record, and stays at 130.
Known to be the Nigerian largest mobile network, MTN improved in the ranking as it moved up from 47th to 45th to become South Africa’s most valuable Telco brand.
Other African countries within the first 300 most valuable brands includes Kenya’s Safaricom (99th), Morocco’s Maroc Telecom (111th), Senegal’s Sonatel (136th), Telkom (140th), Cell C (158th), Morocco’s Inwi (169th), Telecom Egypt (201st), Blue Label Telecoms (207th) and Zimbabwe’s Econet (223rd).

The topmost America’s telecoms player, AT&T rules the world. The company was able to hold on to the title of the industry’s most valuable brand despite its brand value dropped 5% from US$87.0 billion to US$82.4 billion over the past 12 months.
Overall, MTN is African most valuable telecom brands of 2018, closely followed by Safaricom of Kenya, Maroc of Morocco and Nigeria’s Globacom.
