The Oppo A71 was quietly launched last year September and it appears to be a short-lived model as new model has be officially announced today in Pakistan. The Oppo A71 (2018) is the latest model and may likely be also launched in India very soon.
The A71 (2018) has almost the same specs as its predecessor, except for few packs of improvements. It comes with the same 5.2″ 720p display, 16GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM functionality, 13 MP f/2.2 main camera, 5 MP f/2.4 selfie shooter, and 3,000 mAh battery as the original A71 but oddly came with 1GB less RAM.

Talking about dimension, it has the exact same as its predecessor, measuring 148.1 x 73.8 x 7.6 mm, and weighs the same 137g.
Snapdragon Replacing Mediatek
The Oppo A71 (2018) is powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset, instead of the old MediaTek MT6750. Qualcomm’s SoC comes with the Adreno 506 GPU and a CPU with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz, and should enable an improvement in app starting speed of 12.5% on average compared to last year’s A71.
This chipset is combined with a 2GB of RAM in the Oppo A71 (2018), and the phone runs Android 7.1 Nougat, skinned with ColorOS 3.2. It’s an immediate newer version of the ColorOS 3.1 UI.
According to the official website of the maker, you can use Oppo’s “AI Beauty Recognition Technology”, which is “based on a global image database that serves as an experienced photographer, who knows your beauty and will offer the most suitable beautify effect for you”, according to the official website.
The Oppo A71 (2018) will be offered in gold and black. It has a price tag of PKR 19,899 in Pakistan, which at the moment means $179 or €144.
