Recall that we earlier discussed about WhatsApp giving group Admins super powers which in a way grant them more powers to restrict all other members from sending text messages, photographs, videos, GIFs, documents or voice messages.
The Facebook-owned popular mobile messaging platform has provided the Restricted Groups setting through Google Play Beta Programme in the version 2.17.430.
How It Works?
And now, WhatsApp has activated a new functionality it called “Demote as admin” . This latest feature allows one administrator to “demote” or “dismiss” other administrators, without first deleting them from the group and then adding again like ordinary members.
Before now, when an administrator wants to remove a fellow administrator from the post, you will need to first remove the administrator in question from the group and then add him or her again. But now, you don’t need to do that with the new feature as dismissing an administrator from a group does not need to be from the group.
Where To Download It?
It’s currently available for WhatsApp beta testers on iOS and Android version 2.18.12 and will soon be made available to public.
If you are a beta tester and a group admin, simply go and update your WhatsApp to the latest version.
