Globacom, one of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, has had its operating licence withdrawn by the authorities in the Republic of Benin.
The telecommunications regulator in Benin Republic withdrew Glo Mobile Benin’s license after the Telco failed to concur on its new regulatory terms.
The regulator, Autorite De Regulation Des Communications Électroniques Et De La Poste (ARCEP)-Benin, was quoted by Reuters as saying its negotiations with Glo to pay more for the licence ended in deadlock.
As it stands, Globacom stands risk of losing over 1.6 million of its subscribers in the country if the company fails to reach a truce with the government of Benin.
