Windows-powered phones are already going to extinction even when it has not been officially killed by the maker. And now that it going to be officially dropped, wonder what would happen.

Beginning from tomorrow, the main support for the Windows most popular version on mobile going to stop.
Yes, Microsoft is going to put an end to the mainstream support for Windows Phone 8.1 tomorrow, July 11, 2017. Microsoft has did everything possible to ensure users upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile via its Advisor app, yet, more than 70% of them refused to upgrade, sticking to Windows 8.1.
The truth is, most of the users don’t even check their Windows Phone news, so might not have even know that their phones are eligible for an upgrade through the app. Another thing again is that, some phones are yet to be eligible for a free upgrade, by implication some devices may probably not get it at all.
So if you are one of those people, it is highly recommended to check whether handset eligibility status for the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile. Or else, you will no longer get performance or security updates for your phone, starting tomorrow.
