Apple is providing a platform for companies and customers to communicate using a real time chat. This customer service platform will be available as part of iOS 11 and called Business Chat for iMessage.
Business Chat for iMessage now available on the developer preview for iOS 11


It’s available in developers preveiw. Examples of companies that offers service similar to functions of Business Chat is Needle, they provide businesses with real time chat and chat operators for consumers or customers to reach each others about a product, orders placed, and tracking a shipment.

The platform allows the purchase of a product, tracking, acquiring knowledge of a product and more by customers. This Business Chat platform also allows handling of simple customer services related tasks.

This platform has been integrated into apps owned by Apple, such as Safari, Spotlight, Siri and Maps.

Customers can also make reference to these messages later, if necessary, since they are saved. Users can now use Apple Pay to buy whatever they want via chat.

Companies can start serving their customers/consumers using an iPhone or an iPad with the developers preview version.

Apple says, “Business Chat is a powerful new way for businesses to connect with customers directly in Messages. Using Business Chat, your customers can get answers to questions, resolve issues, and complete transactions on their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Customers can find your business and start conversations from Safari, Maps, Spotlight, and Siri.”
