The assistant captain of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Ahmed
Musa, has stepped down from the position, just a year after assuming the role.

Musa made the Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr to be aware of
his decision earlier before the kick off of the friendly match against Senegal,
at the Hive Stadium in London, last night, March 23.
The announcement was
made public by a BBC reporter, Oluwashina Okeleji via his Twitter handle saying:

“Breaking: Leicester City winger Ahmed Musa has stepped down as
assistant captain of #Nigeria ahead of tonight’s friendly against #Senegal.”
