Many of the Zimbabwean have lived all their life knowing only one person as the President. For example, a man born in 1980 or 1981 is yet to witness another person as his president or any form of power transition.
President Robert Mugabe is the oldest national leader on this planet. He has been at the helm of affairs since April 18, 1980, Zimbabwe’s independence day. He will be clocking 93 on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, with a planned celebration party scheduled for next Saturday.
Meanwhile, the wife of 92-year-old Zimbabwean President Mugabe claimed that the citizens still loves him and will cast their vote for her husband’s corpse, even in his grave.
Speaking to the supporters of the ruling party, ZANU-PF on Friday, February 17, Mrs. Grace Mugabe who many perceived to have been working her ways to the seat of power, a possible successor to the old man said:
“One day when God decides that Mugabe dies, we will have his corpse appear as a candidate on the ballot paper. You will see people voting for Mugabe as a corpse. I am seriously telling you.”
She added, “Just to show people how people love their president.”
