Blackberry looking for a way to rule the world again. Recall that recently, the Canadian corporation penned down global license agreements with TCL
Communication and PT Blackberry Merah Putih in Indonesia for the design, manufacture, and sale of BlackBerry smartphones in various regions.
By implication on this new partnership, the Indian telecom enterprise, Optiemus Infracom Ltd follows the first agreement between Blackberry and TL communication and PT BB Merah Putih.
Just yesterday, February 6th, Blackberry signed another agreement to license BlackBerry software and services for the manufaturing of secure BlackBerry Android handsets in bigger markets which includes India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Based on the Blackberry-Optiemus deal, the company will license its security software and services suite, other related brand assets to the Optiemus, for designing, manufacturing, selling, promotion and provision of customer support for BlackBerry-branded mobile devices.
Nonetheless, BlackBerry will still incharge of control and development of its security, software solutions and maintenance, including its regular Android security updates to the platform.
The Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Mobility Solutions at BlackBerry, Alex Thurber stated:
“India is a very important market for BlackBerry, so we are delighted our latest licensing partnership will extend the BlackBerry software experience to more customers and support the Indian government’s Make In India agenda.â€
